About Newcomer Counselling & Outreach at CFS
Spark’d helps newcomers and their families feel connected in Simcoe County through individualized support and community programming. Our Newcomer Outreach Worker supports newcomers, immigrants, international students, and protected persons (formerly known as refugees) to connect to the community and support their overall emotional and social wellbeing.
Who We Help
Programs are available to everyone living and working in Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka. In the spirit of hope and compassion, CFS and its collaborative community partners are dedicated to providing professional counselling, education, and advocacy to heal and strengthen family and individual life.

Walk-in Appointments
Appointments are not necessary for our walk-in counselling clinics. CFS offers adult and youth walk-in clinics weekly. Visit our events pages for details.
Group Counselling
Under our MindSelf banner, Simcoe Muskoka residents and employees may register for upcoming skill-development and wellness workshops, workshop series, and groups. All are offered virtually. Book Now or visit our MindSelf or event pages for details.

Is there a charge to attend CFS's #ready2talk counselling clinic?
No, CFS offers quick-access single-session professional counselling in person or virtually by appointment, or through our walk-in clinics at no cost to participants. The cost for running these clinics is covered by the Ministry of Health.
Is couples counselling available through CFS's #ready2talk counselling clinics?
Yes. CFS offers inclusive and professional couples counselling services to residents and employes within Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka.
Is family counselling available through CFS's #ready2talk counselling clinics?
Yes. CFS offers inclusive and professional family counselling services to residents and employes within Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka.
Is there an age requirement to access CFS's #ready2talk counselling clinics?
Yes. Adults aged 26+ may access CFS's #ready2talk counselling clinics. Those aged 12-25 are elgible for professional counselling through CFS's YouthCALL program, which offers youth-focused programming. Individuals under the age of 12 may access CFS's #ready2talk counselling clinic as part of a family session only.
Do I need a referral or diagnosis to access CFS's #ready2talk counselling clinics?
No. CFS's accessible clinics are available by self-referring. No diagnoses is required.
Do CFS's #ready2talk counselling clinics welcome members of the 2SLGTBQIA+?
Absolutely! CFS is proud to provide low-barrier, inclusive programming, and strives to create a safe space for all members of our community. All CFS staff members have completed the Safer Spaces training program offered by the Gilbert Centre.
